Welcome to the website for the EU Transport GHG: Routes to 2050? project
This project was undertaken for the European Commission and aimed to, among other things, stimulate a debate about the actions that need to be taken in the medium- to long-term (particularly between 2020 and 2050) to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from the transport sector in the EU. See About the Project for more details of the project’s context and objectives.
Stakeholder engagement
A major element of the project was engagement with European stakeholders. In this context a series of meetings were organised. In the course of the project, three large events have taken place, alongside a series of smaller events.
Presentations and papers relating to the various meetings, can be downloaded from the individual meeting pages via links on our main Events page.
Final Stakeholder Conference
The Final Stakeholder Conference took place in the Alcide de Gasperi room at the Charlemagne Building in Brussels on Monday 15th March 2010.
The conference was web streamed and recorded. Links to the recorded videos are now available on the Final Stakeholder Conference page.
Reports and Papers
As part of the project, a number of reports and papers have been developed and presented to various meetings. Many of these have been amended in light of comments that have been received.
The final versions of these reports, together with the final project report, are available for download from the relevant links on the Reports page.
Illustrative Scenarios Tool
As part of the project an illustrative scenario tool has been developed with the aim of scoping illustrative scenarios, and promoting discussion amongst stakeholders. The final version of the tool (referred to as the SULTAN Illustrative Scenario Tool) is freely available for download and use from the Illustrative Scenarios Tool page.
