Welcome to the website for the EU Transport GHG: Routes to 2050? project

This project is being undertaken for the European Commission and aims to, among other things, stimulate a debate about the actions that need to be taken in the medium- to long-term (particularly between 2020 and 2050) to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from the transport sector in the EU. See About the Project for more details of the project’s context and objectives.

Stakeholder engagement

A major element of the project is engagement with European stakeholders. In this context a series of meetings are planned – some of which have already taken place. In the course of the project, three large events will take place, alongside a series of smaller events. Forthcoming events  are announced on the right hand panel.

Presentations and papers relating to meetings 4, 5, 6 and 7, can be downloaded from our Events page, along with those relating to earlier meetings.

Final Stakeholder Conference

Draft Agenda

The Final Stakeholder Conference will take place at the Charlemagne Building in Brussels on Monday 15th March 2010. The conference will also be webstreamed to allow people to view the meeting remotely - details of how to do this will be published on the website prior to the event.

Reports and Papers

As part of the project, a number of reports and papers have been developed and presented to various meetings. Many of these have been amended in light of comments that have been received.

The original versions, as presented at the meetings, are available for download from the relevant links on the main Reports page, while the revised versions, when available, can be downloaded from the Updated Reports page.

Additionally, Reports II to VI have not been presented to meetings, but are still open for consultation. These can be found on the Additional Reports page, when they are ready. Reports II, IV and VI are currently available.

Illustrative Scenario Tool

As part of the project an illustrative scenario tool has been developed with the aim of scoping illustrative scenarios, and promoting discussion amongst stakeholders.  As part of the engagement with European stakeholders, a beta version of the tool is being made available for download and comment on the Illustrative Scenario Tool page.
