EU Transport GHG: Routes to 2050 II project

Forthcoming Events

The following meetings are currently being planned. For more details of forthcoming events as details are finalised, or to register your interest to attend*, please use the links in the Event information panel on the right, or visit our Forthcoming Events page:

1) Two full-day Large Stakeholder Conferences are being scheduled:

a) First Large Stakeholder Conference: Held on 29 June 2011 (see below) at which the new project was introduced to stakeholders and interim results presented;

b) Second Large Stakeholder Conference: at which the draft final findings of the project will be presented and discussed, anticipated to be held in February 2012;

2) A series of four ½ day technical Focus Group Meetings have been held, with Meetings 1 & 2 and Meetings 3 & 4 scheduled back-to-back.

* Please note that places are limited and registering your interest does not guarantee attendance. You will be notified nearer the time to confirm whether you have been allocated a place.

All the meetings for the new project are planned to be held at the Diamant Conference Centre in Brussels, Belgium.  Directions to this venue are available from this link.  

Completed Event Information

a) Focus Group Meeting 1: Covering GHG emissions from infrastructure construction, vehicle manufacturing and ELVs (Task 2) was held on 4 May 2011 in Brussels;

b) Focus Group Meeting 2: Covering knock on consequences and major risks and uncertainties with achievability (Task 3 and Task 5) was held on 4 May 2011 in Brussels;

c) First Stakeholder Conference, held on 29 June 2011 in Brussels:  Covering the project outline, the context with the recent 2050 Roadmap and Transport White Paper launched in March 2011, and presentations of draft results or preliminary plans for the different project tasks;

d) Focus Group Meeting 3: Covering Co-benefits and cost effectiveness (Task 1 and Task 8) was held on 28 November 2011;

e) Focus Group Meeting 4: Covering Exploration of the potential for less transport-intensive paths to societal goals (Task 4) was held on 28 November 2011.
